Raccoons and Groundhogs are known pests in the area. Residents may trap or poison the animals. You may also call a private animal control/pest extermination company. Every summer the County Health Department distibutes rabies vaccines to the raccoon population through it baiting program which normally occurs during late July/early August. Raccoons and groundhogs can be discouraged by keeping your food waste and refuse in a bag, within a trash can with a tight fitting lid.
